Patricia Fondeur

Chief Operating Officer

As Chief Operating Officer, Patricia is what keeps Intego a well-oiled machine. Driven by a deep passion for change and an uncanny ability to view projects and processes from a strategic operations standpoint, she is the yin to our founder’s yang. Her environmental career started in 2010, when she joined the local 350.org chapter in the Dominican Republic, working in collaboration with NGOs like Oxfam International. Her teamwork spirit was invaluable for building strategic partnerships, driving efficient project management, and achieving team goals, including successfully organising key international climate action events and being awarded the best project proposal in the Youth Forum for Water of the Model UN of the Ministry of Education.

Patricia’s career pivoted towards business management, working as office and operations manager in a fast-growing start-up in California for six years. She was responsible for the business’s accounting, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and standard operating procedures. Today, she brings this expertise to Intego, ensuring our background operational processes are streamlined and effective.

Her background combines advertising, data analytics, programming, and administration. Her passion for data analysis also makes her our team’s spreadsheets and data whiz, helping translate our research findings into meaningful storytelling. She is a graduate of Google’s Data Analytics course and Harvard's Introduction to Programming with Python and holds an Associate’s Degree in Advertising.

Our story

Let's travel back in time...

The year is 2009. Our founder, Vanessa Angelina, was living in the Dominican Republic; a small island developing state, significantly vulnerable to climate change.

After studying social marketing at university, Vanessa was keen to start an environmental NGO. Serendipitously, she came across the work 350.org was doing, building a global grassroots climate movement.

Driven by sheer determination, she set to establish the local 350.org chapter, 350 Dominicana. Shortly after, our Chief Operating Officer, Patricia, joined the 350 Dominicana team.

For three years, Vanessa and Patricia led the 350 Dominicana team in collaboration with other young changemakers.

The team led and successfully delivered dozens of environmental projects. Highlights included organising the local 350 eARTh project, the world’s first-ever global climate art project; the local 10.10.10 event for the International Day of Climate Action; the first recycling program in the Dominican Republic, Dominicana Recicla; and the first Youth Leadership Workshop on Climate Change in partnership with Oxfam International. The team also attended the COP16 in Cancún, México, with author and environmentalist Bill McKibben and the 350.org international team.

Sadly, the 350 Dominicana chapter came to an end when Vanessa and Patricia respectively moved to Australia and the USA. The friendship and passion remained, though, interlinked by a common purpose for inspiring positive change.

Ten years later, Vanessa and Patricia reminisced about the 'good ol' 350 days'. Vanessa had spent most of a decade working in, researching and teaching business sustainability in the higher education sector. Patricia had worked in strategic operations at a successful start-up in California.

As they talked, it gradually became clear they were asking themselves the same questions: is this it? Is this what we are going to be remembered for? They missed the sense of purpose of those 350.org days. It felt like their legacy was bigger than their current reality.

Vanessa shared with Patricia an idea she had been working on since 2021: what if she could help people use their businesses for good?

That day, a partnership was born.

Today, Vanessa and Patricia collaborate remotely to continue their legacy; the one that saw them come together over a decade ago.

With vastly more experience, skills and knowledge, the team guides for-purpose leaders to take regeneration and impact from theory to practice, empowering them to do well by doing good.

Our why

Let's be real.

Our planet is complex, fragile and beautiful. From climate change to biodiversity loss, to social injustices, we're navigating an increasingly VUCA world.

More and more, people are realising the extent of these issues, their interconnectedness, and how they will influence our lives.

The last few decades have seen an increase in corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and other ESG strategies. Yet, it seems things keep getting worse, doesn't it?

We believe the current sustainability paradigm is not enough. That piecemeal solutions focusing on problems in isolation will not create the future we need.

We have to change our thinking in order to change our future story.

This is why Intego exists. We're here to disrupt business as usual, by being an authentic force for positive change.

Our purpose is to catalyse the transition to a purpose-driven, socially impactful and regenerative economy; one that is in service to life.

How do we deliver our purpose? By:

• Building people's capability to create change within their organisations, communities, and lives.

• Conducting evidence-based academic research that improves our understanding of complex systems and contributes to positive social and environmental impact.

• Partnering with forward-thinking, change-making leaders to create positive change for people, place, and nature while unlocking new business value.

• Designing and growing businesses for good.

Our manifesto

We have a vision: a world where communities, places, and nature flourish. We see the power of business to bring forth that world.

We believe in the good in people, and in the beauty of our planet to inspire us to create change. But our world, and us, need work.

Somewhere along the way, we lost our connection to nature, to community, and to each other. This has manifested in suffering, extinction, and social inequality. Our founder built Intego to re-envision a different way, where businesses, communities, and nature come together to co-create a future of a different kind; one that is purpose-driven, socially impactful and embraces a regenerative economy that is in service to life.

We believe:

• Our planet is worth protecting.
• Business can be a force of good.
• Everyone, no matter how small, is capable of sparking change.

We’re here to disrupt business as usual by being an authentic force for positive change.

To you, the changemaker, the trailblazing business leader who sees yourself mirrored in these words.

You're witnessing global disruption, ecological collapse
And you wonder, what role do I play?
You listen to your inner calling
To become an agent of change.

We exist for you.

To awaken the desire to live to your true potential,
To lead by example, establish a legacy,
And use your business as a vessel for change.

Together, we’re creating the future of tomorrow, today.

Let’s get to work.
