Our practice areas

What is regenerative impact?

We're calling regenerative impact the merging of regenerative practices and social impact.

Rooted in regenerative development and design, regenerative practices move us from doing 'less bad' to doing 'more good'.

Combined, they provide a framework that enables us to work in partnership with nature, developing the capabiity of people and places to thrive into the future.  

When working from regeneration, we:

• Strive for the co-evolution of places and people  

• Embrace empowered participation

• Honour community and place

On the other hand, social impact is known as the positive and negative consequences of interventions, projects, programmes, etc. and any social change resulting from them.

Social impact relies on social outcomes and impact measurement to understand the effect of our interventions or programmes.

The benefits of measuring social impact is that first, it helps you know if you really are making a difference. Second, it helps build better purpose-driven businesses and organisations.

But why did we combine regeneration and social impact?

Simple.

We believe that although sustainability is a great step, it is not enough to undo the damage we've already done to natural systems.

We have to shift our current mechanistic mindset from minimising harm and prioritising technological efficiency, to embracing an ecological worldview and building net-positive benefits that regenerate nature, communities and places.

Of course, the challenge remains that we can't know if those regenerative practices are having the intended effect they were meant to have.

This is where social impact comes in.

Combined, we use regeneration and social impact to help our clients build regenerative practices and clearly identify and articulate how these interventions are changing lives, communities, and places.
